The Awarding Ceremony of the Reading Challenge and Competition held last 2nd of June, was significantly graced with the presence of the Director of Bethlehem Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Nisreen Amro and her team as well as the Regional Director of Pontifical Mission Jerusalem Office, Mr. Joseph Hazboun and the Project Coordinator, Mr. Gabi Kando.
Quite a number of school directors, teachers, as well as student-participant and winners attended this last event of the contest. They came not only to receive their awards but also to show their support and gratitude for this educational endeavor, which eventually helped enhanced and encouraged the culture of reading among the young people.
During the short program, coordinators and directors of the schools were beaming with pride as shown in their smile for what their students have achieved. While obviously, feelings of joy and contentment etched on the faces of those students who received their award as organizers called on them acknowledging their works and efforts as they have given their best.
This year’s winning school was awarded to the Latin Patriarchate-Beit Sahour for having received the highest cumulative ratio and bested the other thirty-seven (37) schools. We extend our warm congratulations to all the winners, as well as the teachers and school administrators who have given their unwavering support and encouragement to their students. Likewise, we do acknowledge the work specifically of the school coordinators as well as the Directors especially for the guidance and patience towards their students during the course of the competition.
