Second Reading Competition – Awarding Ceremony

The Awarding Ceremony of the Reading Challenge and Competition held last 2nd of June, was significantly graced with the presence of the Director of Bethlehem Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Ms. Nisreen Amro and her team as well as the Regional Director of Pontifical Mission Jerusalem Office, Mr. Joseph Hazboun and the Project Coordinator, Mr. Gabi Kando. Second Reading Competition – Final Round

PMECC Reading Competition on its second year The Pontifical Mission Educational and Cultural Center had launched for the second time the Reading Challenge and Competition, which involved only the 4th graders. Its aim was to engage children of their age to enjoy and develop the love for reading. Likewise, it has helped enhanced their reading habit and communication skills which came out to be a fun-filled entertainment especially during this time of the pandemic. First Elimination Round of the Reading Competition 2020

One-hundred and thirty-eight (138) student-participants from 28 schools have successfully passed the cut-off score of 1,125 points for the First Elimination Round of the Reading Competition, which culminated last November 23rd. They are now preparing themselves again for the Second Elimination Round, which will start this coming 7thof December 2020 until 15th of February 2021. Second Reading Competition Launched

The PMECC Administration and Staff has recently launched anew the Reading Challenge and Competition only for the 4th graders. Its aim is to engage children at an early age thea joy and love for reading, enhance their reading habit and skills and make it a fun-filled entertainment especially during this time of the pandemic. It started off last 21st September 2020 and will last on the 10th of March 2021. PMECC Awarding Ceremony for the Final Round of the Reading Competition for 14 Elementary Schools in the Bethlehem Governorate

The alarming spike of cases of the corona virus, the risk and threat posed lately to people’s health specifically in Bethlehem and its neighboring areas did not deter the organizers and participants to hold simultaneously the Final Round of the Reading Competition and later on the Awarding Ceremony. This event was held on August 12 and 19 respectively at the Pontifical Mission Educational and Cultural Center. On-going Reading Competition of the 4 th and 5 th Graders in Various Schools

In mid-February 2019, the PMECC administration and staff launched the Reading Competition, which involved the fourth and fifth graders from the twelve (12) private schools and two (2) government schools in Bethlehem and its neighboring cities. Then came the creation of the PMECC website as part of the initial plan, and subsequently, the program for the Reading Contest as well as its needed online portal development section was established, which facilitated the work of the PMECC staff and participants online.
